TAX/AUDIT ASSOCIATE
We are currently seeking a highly focused, motivated individual to join our growing team as an Audit Associate. The ideal candidate for this role is eager to jump-start their accounting career at a high-performing, well-established accounting firm. Our Partners, Managers, and Staff Accountants will work closely with you to provide training and support as you grow into this role. Qualifications
Associates or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Ability to work independently and with a team
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
Strong analytic, problem-solving and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
With supervision of Partners, Managers, and Staff accountants, assist with audit/compliance reports
Assist with reviews and compilations
Execute timely and diligent client service
Assist Partners, Managers, and Staff Accountants with special tax projects as needed
Ensure all duties performed are aligned with GAAP standards
SENIOR TAX/AUDIT ASSOCIATE
Lethert is currently seeking a Senior Tax/Audit Associate to join our growing team of professional staff. The ideal candidate has 3 - 5 years of public accounting experience, is highly focused and motivated, and eager to advance their career at a progressive, well-established CPA & Advisory firm. Working directly with Lethert’s Partners, Managers, and Staff Accountants, this new staff member will be heavily involved in the client engagement processes from start to finish and will identify and research various client issues.

Qualifications
BS/BA degree in Accounting with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience at an accounting firm
CPA certification
Experience performing tax consulting, planning, and compliance work for a variety of clients
Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax returns
Strong leadership, multitasking, and organizational skills
Previous tax return and review experience
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
Prepare quarterly federal, state, and city estimated tax payments
Ensure accounting practices align with GAAP standards
Assist Partners, Managers, and Staff Accountants with special tax projects, as needed
Support clients in building and maintaining effective relationships with tax authorities
Perform complex tax research
Prepare tax returns for complex corporate, individual, partnership, trust, and estate tax clients
Manage the planning and execution of client engagements
Oversee tax returns performed by staff members, including reviews and recommendations on return preparation
Assist with mentoring and training junior staff members, including reviewing tax returns and making recommendations, as needed
Assist in the development and implementation of sustainable tax planning strategies

1918 | Joseph A. Lethert opens the Central Accounting Bureau near 7 Corners in St. Paul, Minnesota.
1922 | The firm moves to the Endicott Building in downtown St. Paul, where it operated for nearly 60 years on the 6th floor.
1940 | Alfred “Al” Lethert joins his father at the firm.
1953 | Wm. T. Mosso joins the firm where he went on to spend 60 years of his career.
1959 | The firm is renamed to A. J. Lethert & Co.
1971 | Michael Skwira Jr. and Michael Lethert join Michael Skwira Sr. and Alfred J. Lethert as partners. The firm is renamed to Lethert & Skwira.
1976 | Robert Schultz is admitted as partner after joining the firm in 1972. The firm is again renamed to Lethert, Skwira, Schultz & Co.
1982 | Lethert, Skwira, Schultz & Co. moves to its existing building on 7th Place in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota.
2020| Lethert, Skwira, Schultz & Co., changes its name to Lethert and launches a new logo and website
